General Information
The municipality of Magallanes is a 4th
class Municipality composed of sixteen (16) barangay. It has a total land area
of 8,293.0456 hectares; 69.64 or 5,775.50 hectares of this area are used for
agricultural purposes.
II.
Champion Crops and Livestock Commodities
Majority of the farmer are small scale farmers
and practices coconut based multi-storey
farming system. Banana and sugarcane are
the major crops planted beneath coconut.
Layer/Broiler farm comprises the largest population in
poultry, while backyard swine raising is the most popular enterprise among
small livestock farmer.
